Aigli Pomace Oil
Pomace oil, as a product obtained from olives, consists mainly of oleic acid (~ 75%), a monounsaturated fatty acid known for its positive health properties. Among the micronutrients of pomace oil are erythrodiol and uvaol, eleanolic and muslin acid, etc.
Two other important components of pomace oil are phytosterols and tocopherols, with a phytosterol content ranging between 800 and 2400 mg / kg. Beta-sitosterol is by far the most abundant (>93%), followed by campesterol, Δ7-stigmastenol, stigmasterol and brasicasterol.
Tocopherols are also present in pomace oil. Tocopherols are powerful antioxidants that prevent the spread of free radicals to plasma membranes and lipoproteins. All of the above ingredients contribute to the beneficial effects attributed to the Mediterranean Diet, such as the prevention of cardiovascular disease and other related pathologies such as diabetes and obesity. Its acidity does not exceed 1%, while it has a mild taste.
