Enigma – high phenolic

In ancient times, the Olive Tree was a symbol of Victory. The wild olive branches, braided in a wreath, were the highest honor for the winner of the Olympic Games. Athletes lubricated their bodies with olive oil, but they also used it for body hygiene. The cultivation of the olive tree continues to this day and the olive oil still holds the first place in nutritional and medicinal value.

The healing properties of olive oil, have long been known to Hippocrates and ancient medicine. Numerous uses have been reported, such as in obstetrics, dermatology, as a mild antidote to poisoning etc.

ENIGMA early harvest extra virgin olive oil, which is rich in phenols (938 mg / kg, by NMR method), contains mainly oleocanthal. This valuable healthy substance, is responsible for the stinging sensation that the consumer feels when swallowing ENIGMA. Along with the naming of oleocanthal (oil + thorn) by the Beauchamp researcher team in 2005, it was found that the action of this substance is analogous to the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug ibuprofen. (Beauchamp et al, 2005)

Oleocanthal has also been linked to a reduced risk of Alzheimer’s disease, a neurodegenerative disease characterized by the accumulation of β-amyloid and t protein in the brain. (Abuznait et al, 2013). ENIGMA contains 447 mg / kg oleocanthal!
